Rethinking the Human Agent in an AI World
A recent report, "Being Human in 2035," reveals some eye-opening stuff: AI is already sparking a "fundamental revolution" in what it means to be human. The researchers warn that as technology becomes more integrated into our lives, we may gradually lose touch with core human capacities like motivation, emotional intelligence, and personal agency.
The human experience is changing.
Think about it: AI is making life so convenient with summaries and automated decisions that some experts worry we're in the process of losing our willingness to dig deep and think critically. And our relationships? They're shifting too. With AI companions becoming more "in tune," complex human connections might start feeling, well, too complex. One expert even noted that "AI romantic partners will provide idealized relationships that make human partnerships seem unnecessarily difficult," potentially leading to more isolation.
The report also suggests AI is subtly nudging our choices, creating an "illusion of control." With deepfakes and personalized content, shared reality and factual common knowledge are already eroding, leading to more polarization and a breakdown of trust.
AI is actively reshaping how we think, interact, and see ourselves today. At the same time, the separation between our inner lives and our work lives is dissolving.
The old labels don’t work anymore.
You can see this on Social media, too. The line between personal and professional is blurred. Your personal brand is all about your authentic story in your business message. Ironically, we use AI to create that personal content.
This is the environment where Calm Agent was started.
I no longer wanted to divide myself. I was a real estate broker practicing mindfulness. I used AI but also journaled using pen and paper. I was a professional who valued stillness as much as momentum. I realized that to protect our identity in this changing world, our human experience must be protected and brought together, not separated.
The same goes for our families, friends, and communities; they are slowly fragmenting. The antidote is connecting differently, more human, as a whole person instead of a label, role, or job.
Calm Agent is for the modern agent who lives in a world where business, identity, and wellness intersect.
The boundaries dissolve because we’re being called to live more fully and protect our human experience.
Clients remember how we make them feel. They trust what feels real. That trust begins with how present we are, not just with them but also with ourselves.
In a time of fragmented attention and outsourced identity, the agents who build trust will be the ones who stay grounded and most human.
This week’s reflection:
Where in your business are you still trying to be someone you’re not?
What would shift if you led your business from wholeness instead of division?

Using AI as a Thought Partner?
Using AI as a thought partner is gaining significant traction across various sectors, driven by its ability to enhance decision-making, provide objective feedback, and streamline strategic processes. The concept is popular among professionals who need to process complex information, explore scenarios, or refine strategies quickly.
IBM’s 2025 CEO Study also finds that leading CEOs are ahead of the curve in using AI to forecast market shifts, improve decision-making, and drive business growth, treating AI as an integral part of their leadership strategy.
For real estate agents, this means treating AI as a collaborative tool to brainstorm ideas, challenge assumptions, and optimize business practices.
Key Benefits of AI as a Thought Partner
Enhanced Decision-Making: AI provides data-driven insights, helping agents analyze market trends, pricing strategies, or client preferences more clearly.
Objective Feedback: AI offers unbiased critiques of plans, presentations, or strategies, acting like a virtual mentor or coach.
Time Efficiency: By quickly processing vast amounts of information, AI frees agents to focus on high-value tasks like client relationships.
Creative Exploration: AI can generate innovative marketing ideas, negotiation tactics, or ways to differentiate in competitive markets.
Practical Applications for Real Estate Agents
Refining Listing Strategies
Market Analysis and Forecasting
Client Perspective Simulation
Negotiation and Problem-Solving
Using AI as a thought partner, real estate agents can sharpen their strategies, anticipate client needs, and stay competitive in dynamic markets. It’s like having a 24/7 consultant who can analyze, critique, and inspire—while leaving the human connection to the agent’s expertise.
